AHA Governing Committee Monthly Meeting Summary: December 2021
Here is a summary of the November meeting of your American Homebrewers Association Governing Committee (GC).
- The Governing Committee (GC) thanked Ryan Farrell for his guidance and leadership of the AHA for the past year. He is now helping with the transition of leadership to our new executive director Juila Herz.
- The GC is now in the process of reviewing the list of nominees (and their bios) for the three open seats in the upcoming 2022 Governing Committee election in February 2022.
- The GC was updated on the legislation in Ohio to amend the Ohio Liquor Law with regard to homebrewers. The bill is close to being passed out of both houses of the Ohio Legislature and should soon go to Ohio’s Governor for signature.
- The meeting was then turned over to Director Herz for her introduction to GC members that have not yet met her and to listen to her views on the goals for the AHA in 2022 and beyond. This also included her ideas for what the Governing Committee can do to help achieve these goals. It also includes reaching out and networking with AHA membership and others to create relationships, increase membership in the organization, and work with them on behalf of the AHA.
