What’s New for the 2023 National Homebrew Competition
As the new year approaches, we are pleased to share our 2023 NHC plans, which include a return to the First Round regional judging sites, changes to entry feedback, and a shift to the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines.
These sites will determine the entries in each category that will advance to the Final Round of judging prior to Homebrew Con June 22-24, 2023, in San Diego, Calif.
Entrants will select their First Round judging site preference during registration (January 24-31) on a first-come, first-served basis.
During the First Round of judging, all entrants will receive Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) scoresheets for their entries, which include constructive feedback and numerical scores.
In addition to the First Round BJCP scoresheets, Final Round entrants will receive written judge feedback cards similar to those used in the 2022 NHC.
The 2023 National Homebrew Competition will use the 2021 Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) Style Guidelines.
